My primary focus is to promote early career awareness in students by creating vocational, STEAM, and essential Life skill training opportunities. I plan to leverage the local ecosystem to develop internships and training programs to foster innovation, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills early in their careers.
Vocational and Life Skills: Strengthening opportunities focused on career readiness, including trade programs, financial literacy, and essential life skills training.
Vocational Training - mitigating the impact of Assabet Valley policy change on the students.
Immediate: Collaborating with institutions like Leicester High School- Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs, Quinsigamond Community College(QCC), Worcester Tech., and WPI, to name a few.
Long-term: Advocating at both State and District levels to improve access to regional technical schools and expand collaborations with similar need school districts.
STEAM Internships - leveraging the rapidly developing local life science and tech ecosystem to create internship programs.
Establish collaborations with local start-ups and corporations to train students in real-world settings.
Provide hands-on training experience for students to practice and choose the career paths that best fit their skills and ambitions.
Students earn transferrable skills that enable them to grow and develop personally and professionally.
I am committed to:
Proactive planning for future growth and development with a holistic review of our current capacity limitations and developing a roadmap for future growth.
Students, teachers, parents, and guardians are currently experiencing critical space constraints in our High School (immediate need), limiting the course offerings and straining teachers and students.
We will start to experience limitations in our elementary schools and very soon in the Middle Schools.
Aligning the School and Town’s strategic priorities enables us to build a robust ActionPlan that is nimble for changing needs and continuous improvements.
Active communications with all stakeholders help develop a roadmap with minimized impact on taxpayers and maximize student performance and academic outcomes.
Proactive planning enables us to be financially diligent and responsible by exploring all potential funding sources to minimize the tax burden on the community.
Better class size improves the course offering and increases teacher-student engagement, providing excellent education/training opportunities to current and future generations with 21st-century skills.
Well Being for all Improving the wel being of students and teachers within the school district is critical.
Students who feel supported to be their authentic selves excel academically and positively impact the class and their community.
Invest in improving belonging with a focus on equity, as this directly impacts social, mental, and academic outcomes.
Working closely with School and Town leadership, residents, and voters, building consensus on areas for immediate improvements, and planning for long-term developments. Less crowded classrooms enable students to interact better with teachers and peers, improving belonging and academic outcomes.
